Sarali Swarams 1-4

These swarams are the building blocks for anything you’ll sing in the future. The very basics of Sa, Re, Ga, Ma and so on and so forth. The video here is an instruction video, which then has a singing track, followed by a practice karaoke track, for you to sing, and try out the swarams. Go ahead, play the video, and have fun with it!

Download the PDF for ready reference. Go ahead and listen to the video, and singalong during the practice tracks!

Sarali Swarams 5-8

As you can see, you are progressing already by learning Sa Re Ga note patterns which are slightly more nuances that the previous patterns!

Sarali Swarams 9-11

As you get familiar with the patterns, this may be a good time to start learning the Talam by watching the video at the bottom of the screen. This is the beat you will learn throughout the course, so do start getting familiar with it!

Sarali Swarams 12-13

Congrats! You’ve reached the final milestone of this class! This section is a little different from the rest of the patterns, as you can see. But the foundation of the previous sections will help you with this one.

Talam or Beat:
How to put Adi Talam

The video shows the 8 cycle beat of Adi Talam. This beat is shown in every video at the bottom right corner of the page. Here is a video explaining the beat in detail. Go ahead and mimic the beat with your hands. In fact, spend this section, not singing, but just trying to keep beat. This is valuable because, once you master this, the beat becomes second nature which complements your singing!

Congratulations! Amazing job!
