Bonus Question : The Bonus Question, when present, is optional. If a candidate attempts it successfully, then it will positively favor his/her candidacy if they are on the border between any two grades. For example, if they are just reaching Distinction, then a successful Bonus question will push them over to get Distinction. However, if the candidate attempts it unsuccessfully, then it will not negatively impact the grade.
