Janta Swarams 1-3

Janta Swaram, or twin notes, as they’re called, are a little more complex than the first section. In this section, you will repeat each note twice, with a greater emphasis on the second note. This set of swarams helps your voice in putting emphasis on the right notes for any song you may sing.

As always, listen to the video, and singalong during the practice tracks! Here is your PDF for 1-6 Swarams, for reference.

Janta Swarams 4-6

This will start repeating in interesting patterns. In fact, some of the most famous songs that have been sung (in fact, one of the songs that you’ll learn in the second module of the course – A Million Dreams) is actually a complex Janta Swaram pattern.

Janta Swarams 7-8

The patterns here start getting more and more complex. You are also learning to skip beats and sing swarams here. On a side note – how’s the talam going? Are you able to put the Talam and sing along with the swaram! If you’re not able to, go back to the Talam module and practice please!

Here is your PDF for 7-12 Swarams, for reference.

Janta Swarams 9-10

Practice as much as you can, the more you practice and listen to our expert teacher sing the swarams, the better and better you will become. At this stage, your talam and singing should be synchronous.

Janta Swarams 11-12

Congrats! You’ve reached the final milestone of this class! The foundation of the previous sections will help you with this one. At this time, you should be able to effortlessly put Talam and sing with the sinalgong tracks, in first and second speed. Are you able to? If you can do it on the third speed, you’re a rock-star! (Rock-Carnatic Star, we mean)

Congratulations! Amazing job!

Now – what would you like to do?

Ready to power through the next module? That’s great too!
